My name is Jani Kotakoski. I am a dad, a physicist, a runner and a gym goer. Not necessarily in that particular order.
I hold a professorship (Univ.-Prof.) in condensed matter physics at the Faculty of Physics at the University of Vienna. I am currently the head of the research unit Physics of Nanostructured Materials. My research group mostly studies controlled manipulation of the atomic structure of nanomaterials such as graphene and carbon nanotubes in the hope of being able to tailor their properties for future applications.
I was born Finland, and I even defended my PhD there, but have lived in Germany (2007-2009) and Austria (2011-) the larger part of the last ten years.
The easiest way to contact me is via email. My professional contact details are available at the university website.
Everything I write on this website reflects only my own opinions. Comments on posts are moderated, but only after posting. Commentators present their own views and their IP addresses will be stored.
